My story

As the parent of three children with dyslexia and dysgraphia, I have spent years navigating evaluations, IEPs, independent educational evaluations (IEEs), and school meetings. Advocating for my own children has taught me how important it is for parents to understand the special education process and to be active members of their child's educational team. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong understanding of the challenges families face and am passionate about helping other parents feel informed, organized, and confident as they advocate for their children.

To further strengthen my knowledge and skills, I will be participating in the Basic Special Education Advocate Training (BSEAT) and the Special Education Advocate Training (SEAT) programs through the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA). BSEAT provides a strong foundation in special education law, the rights of students with disabilities, evaluations, eligibility, IEPs, and effective advocacy practices. SEAT builds on that foundation with more advanced instruction in special education law, advocacy strategies, negotiation, and complex special education issues. My goal is to combine my personal experience with nationally recognized advocacy training so I can provide knowledgeable, compassionate, and effective support to families navigating the special education process.
